Contribution to your Learning
and your Learning Community
(5305-5302)
In undertaking the blended master's degree, my experience aligns with Fink's (2013) concepts about creating meaningful learning experiences. As a teacher committed to continuous improvement, I explored this teaching modality to enrich my educational practice and foster the development of a dynamic and collaborative learning community. Throughout this journey, I have faced challenges that Fink believes are integral to self-discovery and personal and professional growth. Despite fears and uncertainty, the decision to embark on this adventure reflects the search for new learning opportunities, in line with Fink's (2013) philosophy of creating stimulating and transformative educational environments.
Integrating the subjects EDLD (5302) and EDLE (5305) has been crucial for my professional development in digital education. In Concepts of Educational Technology (5302), I delved into the fundamentals of pedagogy, allowing me to reflect on how to adapt these principles to the ever-changing digital age. This initial understanding laid the foundation for my subsequent exploration of Disruptive Innovation in Technology (5305).
By continuing with Disruptive Innovation in Technology (5305), I could explore the latest trends in digital education and discover new ways to address the challenges in the classroom. Combining these two subjects allowed me to integrate theory and practice effectively. For example, I could apply the fundamental pedagogy concepts discussed in (5302) to practical situations that arose while studying innovative trends in (5305).
This combination of collaborations enriched my theoretical understanding of digital education and provided practical tools to implement innovations in my teaching practice. I was able to adapt core pedagogical principles to the latest trends in educational technology, allowing me to address emerging challenges in the classroom more effectively.
Each subject and project challenged me to reflect on my contribution to the learning community and to continually improve by applying key learning concepts. My self-assessment scored 80 in Concepts of Educational Technology (5302) and 40 in Disruptive Innovation in Technology (5305).
I decided to give myself this rating because I recognized that I could have participated more actively in the discussion forums and virtual classes. Despite this, I maintained meaningful interactions with my colleagues through WhatsApp groups, where we shared valuable experiences, ideas, and resources that expanded my vision of teaching and learning in the digital age. The collaboration with my colleagues Siary Rodríguez, Joyce T. Pérez, Neyllu Guedez, and Nelyda Rodríguez was fundamental in this process.
I was inspired by the collaborative learning community I found in EDLD 5302 and EDLE 5305, which motivated me to continue exploring and growing as an educator. This environment of collaboration and mutual learning has been fundamental to my professional and personal development.
As I progress on my Master of Digital Learning journey, I feel renewed in my passion for teaching and excited about the opportunities ahead. Although the path to professional development has not always been easy, I am grateful for having found this educational program, with these subjects that have given me the tools, knowledge, and confidence necessary to move forward.
Throughout this journey, she has had the privilege of learning from Dr. Susan Bedard, who has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to the learning and growth of her students. Dr. Susan Bedard has shared her vast knowledge of educational technology and fostered an environment of collaboration, exploration, and creativity. Through your example, I have understood that digital learning is not just about mastering technological tools and platforms but about developing skills to quickly adapt to changes and make the most of the opportunities of technology to improve teaching and learning.
Participation in EDLD 5305 and EDLD 5302 has been a deeply inspiring and motivating experience. The collaborative learning community I found has pushed me to continue growing and exploring as an educator, and I am grateful to have been a part of it.
