Learning

Manifesto

Empowering my Educational Path

By Siary Rodriguez

"Learning is a dynamic and personalized process enriched by combining multiple modalities and approaches, providing students with the tools necessary to reach their full potential."
-Carol Dweck.

I am a teacher whose objective is to guide my students in acquiring knowledge. My job goes beyond simply giving lessons. It involves committing to the comprehensive development of those who trust me to accompany them in their academic and personal growth. I want to share my core beliefs and intentions about education in this learning manifesto.

I fervently believe in the transformative power of education to open doors, challenge prejudices, and change lives. From this deeply held conviction, I am committed to being a compassionate and passionate guide in the learning journey of my Prek students in Cleveland ISD. My goal is to create a space in the classroom where people feel valued, supported, and challenged to reach their full potential.

I integrate a bold and visionary proposal in this learning manifesto: blended learning. This methodology combines the best of in-person and online learning to offer a richer, more personalized, and accessible educational experience.

Blended learning represents an exciting opportunity to revitalize the educational process, allowing my students to immerse themselves in a dynamic, flexible learning environment that adapts to their learning styles. My blended learning approach seeks to meaningfully integrate technology into the classroom and harness the power of human interaction and personalized tutoring to enrich the learning experience. Mindset is as vital as actual ability. They can learn more to be innovative by choosing which path to follow and how to behave. (Carol Dweck: Mindset: The New Psychology of Success, 2006)

Through blended learning, I am committed to offering my students a variety of resources and activities that promote exploration, collaboration, and reflection. From interactive in-person classes to online modules that allow you to learn at your own pace, my goal is to provide a diverse and stimulating learning environment that inspires curiosity and encourages academic and personal growth.

My preschool students at Pine Burr Elementary School will master early reading, social-emotional, and writing skills by creating these active learning environments, equivalent to CSLE+COVA, effective active learning to foster a constructivist learning environment. , authentic, and child-centered; in this space, my students will promote student choice, ownership, and voice in their learning.

Teaching is not just about sharing knowledge; it is an art that involves forming human connections, feeding curiosity, and nurturing a passion for learning. As such, I will be dedicated to creating an atmosphere of mutual respect, cooperation, and empathy, where every voice is valued and all questions are encouraged.

I will foster a meaningful relationship in a learning environment that allows students to develop independent learning skills, take charge of their education, and have greater control over their learning. "The needs of the students are our starting point" (Dr. Dwayne H. 2012) is a principle that I strongly believe in and will strive to implement in my teaching approach with my Prek students, where teaching is not about sharing knowledge. It is an art that involves forming human connections, feeding curiosity, and a passion for learning. As such, I will be dedicated to creating an atmosphere of mutual respect, cooperation, and empathy where every voice is valued.

We will experience a personalized learning journey tailored to unique needs with our expert-designed approach AND unleash my students' full potential for academic success like never before.

We must optimize every learning opportunity and harness the power of technology to equip students with the skills they need to succeed in an ever-evolving digital world. This new approach to learning will allow us to adapt to the digital age. In an increasingly digital world, with the implementation of the blended learning model, we will use technology to enrich the educational experience and prepare students for the work and social environment of the 21st century.

In this learning manifesto, I affirm my most profound beliefs and commitments. May this guide me on the path of knowledge, constantly remembering the importance of learning, growing, and contributing to our shared world.

I recognize that my role as an educator goes beyond the classroom; I am an agent of change in society. Therefore, I am committed to cultivating in my students academic skills and values of justice, equality, and resilience. I aim to train my students to become critical, committed citizens who contribute positively to the world.

Sir Ken Robinson's vision is to transform education to make it more relevant, stimulating and focused on the holistic development of students. In his book “Creative Schools: The Revolution from the Base that is Transforming Education,” he analyzes a critical and constructive perspective on the challenges and opportunities facing the current educational system and the need to promote creativity and innovation for several years.

This path is just beginning, and we must believe that we will travel it successfully with work, effort, and the awareness that in our hands, we have an excellent opportunity for the future of education. I am committed to changing the approach to learning; we must revolutionize teaching and learning to stay at the forefront of social advances and equip students with the necessary skills for the future. Significant adoption of technology is essential.

I commit as a teacher to honor this journey with humility, curiosity, and courage, celebrating the diversity of experiences and perspectives that enrich my journey. Through this manifesto, I embark on a journey of self-knowledge, transformation, and empowerment, embracing learning as a lighthouse that guides my steps toward a future full of possibilities and promises. On the learning path, we embark on discoveries, challenges, and transformations.

I commit to embarking on this journey with an open mind, a willing heart, and a persevering spirit.
